PANDORA's story begins in 1982 with Danish goldsmith Per Enevoldsen and his wife Winnie in their family-run jewellery shop in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was here where the very first PANDORA ring was made, and where a member of their team suggested that they should begin building on this concept and unique design. In fact, it was the same person who came up with the name ‘PANDORA’, a word which is spoken exactly the same in any language.
Soon, PANDORA’s humble beginnings were about to change, as the Danish company began turning their attention towards wholesaling from Thailand – a country that they had previous experience dealing with – and brought in their first in-house designer. Then, sure enough, PANDORA’s business began to boom; the box was officially open.
After several years of success, PANDORA created their first charm bracelet in 2000, a concept that consumers quickly began to love, thereby increasing the demand which lead to the company expanding into new markets such as the United States.
The years that followed, PANDORA simply continued to grow their range of precious charms and bracelets, until eventually opening a fully-owned manufacturing facility in Thailand in 2005, followed by 2 others in 2008 and 2010.
Today, PANDORA is one of the most prominent brands in the jewellery industry, with a loyal following of customers who appreciate the brand passion for perfection and ability to craft memorable moments.
